Winner: Green Agent of the Year 2014 – UKLAP
They work tirelessly to improve the energy efficiency of all properties in their management.
They have arranged for 70 properties under their management to have their lofts and cavity walls insulated. They were also able to secure funding, via the Mayor of London and the Energy Saving Trust, to enable them to replace and upgrade, free of charge to all their landlords, 35 boilers and complete gas central heating systems with ‘A’ rated energy efficient condensing boilers plus replacement of radiators, timers, thermostats and radiator valves.
They are committed to assisting their tenants in saving on energy costs and reducing the number of households that are experiencing fuel poverty.

Finalist: Best Green Business 2014 – London Business Awards
We were successfully short-listed as finalists this year in the Best Green Business category award, which was judged and presented by BST Environmental, who work with businesses to reduce energy costs, carbon footprint and to find better ways of working – Smarter Greener Working – using Energy Management and Information Communication Technology.
We were extremely honoured to be shortlisted at the awards as we were competing against some of the most innovative and exciting Green businesses across London.
We pride ourselves in delivering excellent customer service to all our clients and we recognise that meeting the needs of our clients is the most important aspect of a healthy and successful business. Once again we thank everyone for all their support!
Finalist: ‘Commercial Business in the Community’- Hertfordshire Business Awards 2014
Central Housing Group Ltd were honoured to be shortlisted as one of 5 finalists at the Hertfordshire Business Awards, 2014 for the category of ‘Commercial Business in the Community.’
The awards were held at Knebworth Barns, Knebworth House, Hertfordshire on 27th November 2014. They were hosted by Stewart White the BBC’s presenter of ‘Look East’ since 1984. Among other awards he has also received the lifetime achievement award from the BBC for his services to regional television. Also at the awards promoting the charity ‘Starlight Children’s Foundation’ was Emma Samms an actress best known for her roles in ‘General Hospital’, ‘The Colbys’, ‘Dynasty’ and ‘The Lady and the Highway Man’.
The Hertfordshire Business Awards were founded by Archant Herts and Cambs who are the fifth largest regional newspaper publisher in the UK. Hertfordshire is one of the key areas in the UK for innovation, employment and economic growth and we are very proud of our county and its continued success.
The ‘Commercial Business in the Community’ award is a new award which has been sponsored by North Hertfordshire Homes (NHH). They are a not-for-profit housing association currently managing over 9000 homes across 8 local authority areas and the counties of Hertfordshire & Bedfordshire.

Finalist: Customer Service 2014/15 – Landlord and Letting Awards
We were delighted to be shortlisted as a finalist in the 2014/15 Landlord and Letting Awards for best ‘Customer Service’ category.
As a finalist we were invited to the awards gala dinner held at Stareton Hall, Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire on the 26th November 2014. The awards were hosted by Tommie Walsh, who after working as a builder, went on to appear in BBC Television gardening programme ‘Ground Force’ and subsequently present other garden & DIY improvement programmes.
The ‘Landlord and Letting Awards’ are the premier nationwide private rented sector awards in the UK, organised by AEP Media. The awards receive industry wide support and have grown year on year, with a growing number of companies and individuals wanting to take part. This year’s response was phenomenal with more entries than ever! So here at Central Housing Group we were thrilled to be a finalist and to receive formal recognition for our hard work and commitment.
At Central Housing Group Ltd we strive to continually improve our customer service delivery to our landlords and tenants. We have increased our staff training and development opportunities and we set strict timescales as to when we will respond to complaints if received. Most importantly we pride ourselves in going above and beyond our obligations to our clients. We have been able to do this through actively seeking to tap into government funded schemes enabling the improvement of properties at no cost to landlords or tenants.
Central Housing Group’s ‘Guaranteed Rent’ scheme focusses on landlords wanting to rent to the council and the scheme has gone from strength to strength in recent years with increasing numbers of landlords seeing the value & benefit of having no void periods, no risk of rent arrears and their rent guaranteed.

Finalists: Central Housing Group are two-time LLAS/UKLAP Award finalists 2016
Following our successful award of the UK’s “Green Letting Agent of the Year” by the LLAS/UKLAP in 2014, Central Housing Group have been shortlisted again for the 2015/2016 year – not for one, but two industry awards.
Central Housing Group have been shortlisted in the categories of “Best Services Provider” and “Best Letting Agent of The Year”, the winners of which will be unveiled at the lavish black-tie LLAS & UKLAP Conference & Award Ceremony in central London. Central Housing Group have been recognised for their work, as private letting agents, helping local London landlords maximise profit on their properties through their successful and popular Guaranteed Rent Scheme. They have also received recognition for the ample work they do assisting local authorities with their ‘Let to the Council’ scheme.
Ranked 6th out of 3,643 UK letting agents on FreeIndex, Central Housing Group beat substantial competition to be shortlisted as finalists for both awards. “We are thrilled to have received recognition in not just one, but two categories this year,” says Central Housing Group Co-Director Romesh Muthiah. “We are happier still to be a General Sponsor of this year’s awards and look forward to what will no doubt be an exciting evening in London that recognises excellence in our industry.”
