Local Authorities
Private sector accommodation for homeless households
Central Housing Group has more than 15 years’ experience in acquiring and managing private sector accommodation for local authority tenants.
We have contracts with seven councils and we have the capacity, the procedures and service commitment to work with more local authority housing departments.
Reliable, Value-for-money Service
We provide a highly reliable value-for-money service to ensure households who are homeless are properly and safely accommodated.
Our landlords, many of whom are engaged in their professional careers — business, health, law — or are small property investors, devolve day-to-day tenancy management and property maintenance to us.
We have developed an expert team of staff, all of whom have been with us for many years. Each member of our valued team manages tenancy and maintenance with professionalism, empathy, sensitivity and thorough commitment.
Policies, Procedures
We uphold ethical and operational principles that are important to local authorities. Our staff are well trained in dealing sensitively with difficult situations. We all work within our system of procedures, documentation, measurement, checks and operational processes. These make what we do clear to follow — for ourselves, our landlords, tenants and property maintenance contractors.

Advantages to Local Authorities’ housing managers
We offer local authority housing departments with responsibilities for securing homeless tenant accommodation, the level of service and commitment that makes their managers and officers’ jobs easier.
We’ve done those jobs ourselves: we understand the circumstances.
We provide:-
• A reliable and responsive service for your homeless clients
• Updates where necessary on tenancies:
– tenant management issues
– absent tenants
– abandoned properties
– living beyond means
– unauthorised sub-letting
– unlawful overcrowding
– anti-social behaviour
Equality, Diversity
We are committed to delivering an excellent, culturally appropriate and accessible service to all our clients.
As a Black & Minority Ethnic (BME) led company we have a strong equalities ethos. We are committed to practising the highest standards in the Equalities field and to operating in a non-discriminatory manner at all times.
Equalities policy and practice is developing constantly as social attitudes and legislation change. We keep our policies under review and will implement changes where these could improve equality of opportunity.
We undergo equality training and are guided by our Equalities Policy & Practice objectives, which we embrace fully. Our team reflects our local communities and ensures our selected contractors, also drawn from our local communities, are equally respectful at all times.
We are fully committed to best practice in lettings and management and to providing well-defined service levels and a quality service to all our clients and customers.
