Covid Help To Landlords And Tenants

The House of Commons Library, an independent body not controlled by government, has published a detailed history of the many measures undertaken to help landlords and tenants during the Coronavirus pandemic.

It may be of use to agents facing criticism from others, especially renters’ pressure groups, suggesting that little has been done during the Covid period.

The 55 page document is authoritative and covers the extended notice periods for tenants during the worst of the pandemic, the many and lengthy suspension of possessions, financial assistance available, the calls for additional support for the sector, and all of the various statements issued  by government as official guidance to the sector since March 2020.

It also details the national regional landlords and tenants variations which applied to England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
