Government tax survey

The Office of Tax Simplification (OTS) is asking for landlords’ opinions on tax reporting and payment arrangements.

The OTS is an independent adviser to government suggesting changes that will make the tax system easier to navigate.The survey is runs until September 20. To share your opinion on the system – and what could be done to improve it click here.

met romesh recently, re my friends possible rental house to council. though repairs and modernisation to house greatly excelled possible rental value, romesh was happy to sit with us for 1 hour and share his knowledge of the rental market, though there was no profit in it for him.cant reccomend him enough wish i had had the good fortune to meet him, when i had to decide what to do about a property left to me by parents, i would be a lot better off now

I have a rental property with Central Housing for well over a decade now and am going to stay with them for the foreseeable future as it's the most hassle free and peace of mind way to rent the property our and have it fully managed.There is a fantastic team in the background, managing the property and looking after the condition of the property, and they have their own contractors whom they use for all aspects of repairs needed which are generally more cost effective than going private.Whilst the rent received may be a little below market rates, once you have saved your monthly agents commission, the cost of having the property sitting empty at odd periods and all the other time and effort spent on preparing new tenancies, check-ins, check-outs etc. it's quite simply a no-brainer.Well done Romesh, Jo, Maria and all for providing a great hassle free rental service.
