Local Authorities

Private sector accommodation for homeless households

Central Housing Group has more than 15 years’ experience in acquiring and managing private sector accommodation for local authority tenants.

We have contracts with seven councils and we have the capacity, the procedures and service commitment to work with more local authority housing departments.

Reliable, Value-for-money Service
We provide a highly reliable value-for-money service to ensure households who are homeless are properly and safely accommodated.

Our landlords, many of whom are engaged in their professional careers — business, health, law — or are small property investors, devolve day-to-day tenancy management and property maintenance to us.

We have developed an expert team of staff, all of whom have been with us for many years. Each member of our valued team manages tenancy and maintenance with professionalism, empathy, sensitivity and thorough commitment.

Policies, Procedures
We uphold ethical and operational principles that are important to local authorities. Our staff are well trained in dealing sensitively with difficult situations. We all work within our system of procedures, documentation, measurement, checks and operational processes. These make what we do clear to follow — for ourselves, our landlords, tenants and property maintenance contractors.

Our Voids Manager is meticulous in her work in managing void properties after tenant departures: organising, as necessary, repairs, cleaning and refurbishment. We welcome new tenants, issue them with a comprehensive Information Welcome Pack, explain to them their responsibilities and ensure they know how to work all the appliances in their property or who to call to report a repair problem.
